Exploratory science museum located at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), where there’s a round square with an observatory.
The project incorporates the existing square by blending it with the entrance hall and using it to articulate the museum’s different functions. Because it’s located on the highest point of the site, the building also fulfills the desire of creating a landmark.
The exhibition pavilion has three large long-span Vierendeel trusses that create free spaces and allow cantilevered structures.
The main circulation path is in the adjacent tower, which provides direct access to the rooftop courtyard where the auditorium, the library and the café are located. It’s a space where people can relax, learn and find a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape.
